Here's why you haven't started your renovation . . .

“Can I afford to do what I want?”

This single question stops homeowners from starting on their renovation, and we hear it all the time. It can make you feel stuck, frustrated and unable to move forward.

Or maybe every time you try to get going, you just get another differing opinion on the best way to go about it?

You’re not alone.  The world of renovating can feel a bit like the wild wild west, with DIY success stories on one hand and tales of skyhigh costs and dodgy builders on the other. It’s so easy to stay stuck, and never start the ball rolling at all.

Doing the Getting started course has saved me at least £10K on my project, plus it's meant that not a single penny of my budget was wasted. Thank you!

Renovating doesn't have to be difficult, really!

We’re here to tell you that renovating doesn’t have to be stressful  – or painful. In fact you just need one thing: a good PLAN.

The truth is, people rarely sit down and make a considered plan for their project, to analyse what they want achieve, what budget they have, or what type of team might be best suited to help them achieve it. Because it feels easier to jump straight in and work things out as you go.

But, when budgets are tight and you have high aspirations there’s no room for error.

Planning ahead means you can ensure your project is efficient and being efficient means your project will happen faster and cost less.

We’re all about being intentional, and doing the work upfront so that you can squeeze every last drop of value from your project.

Take the time to work out your priorities, your budget, and what you want to achieve. It’s the only way to save time, money and stress.

We’re all about being intentional, and doing the work upfront so that you can squeeze every last drop of value from your project.

Are you ready to take charge of your renovation?

You are best placed to take ownership of your project. No builder or architect knows all the parts of the puzzle, so it’s time to become the BOSS of your own project.

That doesn’t mean you need to know HOW to do everything yourself, but WHO you need on your side to make it happen.

And the good news is, we’re here to equip you to do that. Getting Started will help you;

Make a structured budget so that you can talk confidently to professionals

Avoid wasting money by hiring the wrong people for your project.

Prioritise your renovation wishlist so that every penny is spent intentionally.

Save £1000’s by staying on track with your budget throughout your renovation.

This course saved my sanity and budget so many times, in fact it’s been the backbone of how we managed the renovation

Frequently asked questions

The principles of our course are applicable to projects of any size.  From renovating a bathroom to a full house refurbishment and extension, we always tailor our advice to encompass a range of budgets.

It’s never too early to start making a plan.  The more time you give yourself to prepare the more efficient and enjoyable your project will be.

Although we are trained architects, we think it’s important to be able to offer impartial advice outside the client / architect relationship. For that reason we don’t carry out design work as part of HomeNotes.

No, the help and support we’ve created at HomeNotes won’t teach you how to carry out physical building tasks yourselves.  But, our course will help you organise and manage your project whichever method you choose to build it.

You will receive access to all the course content straight away.  We encourage you to do your work stage by stage to ensure you stay focused and complete your plan.

Absolutely!  We’re available to answer your queries by email and through the HomeNotes HUB, our facebook community.

We know that adding a home renovation on top of the daily juggle of work and home life can be daunting. This is why we’ve focused on making this course clear and simple to follow so that you can get results.  We recommend spending 2/3 hrs on each section of the course to get your completed renovation plan.

Our course material is not area specific – we will point you toward the right resources to get cost information specific to where you live.
